Missy Rowe, Soprano
Missy, a resident of Hampton Borough, NJ, graduated from Montclair State University in 2011 where she majored in Music Education with a concentration in voice. In 2006 she graduated from Raritan Valley Community College where she majored in music also with a concentration in voice. While at Montclair State, she sang with the University Singers, an audition only choir, which performed at the Guggenheim Museum premiering Meredith Monk’s “Songs of Ascension.” The choir is also featured on the Grammy nominated CD, “Songs of Ascension.” She also performed with the MSU Chorale and the Moscow Conservatory Choir in Carmina Burana with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. Missy was also involved in a new dance opera, Icarus Rising, by Elliot Sokolov and Isidore Elias. It was choreographed by Sabatino Verlezza and Loretta Fois,and was premiered and performed at Raritan Valley Community College in December 2015.
Missy currently works for Elizabeth Public Schools in Elizabeth, NJ, as a K-8 general music and chorus teacher. She also is an instructor for the Elizabeth Marching Band (Elizabeth, NJ) for the front ensemble. In her free time she likes to read and enjoy movie and game nights with her husband. She feels blessed and excited to continue her journey with Caritas, and to make fine music with wonderful musicians and support the African Mission.
