Alison Morrison, Alto
Alison is a registered professional nurse, a mother, grandmother and a charter member of Caritas Chamber Chorale. Her nursing career has included working as a visiting nurse, a home care nursing manager, a case manager for several state and county programs, an instructor for the NJ State Board of Nursing Home Health Aide Certification Program, an inpatient hospice facility staff nurse, and currently as the quality compliance coordinator and educator at Center for Hope Hospice and Palliative Care. She has been a member of Our Lady of the Mount Church in Warren, NJ for over 35 years where she participates as a reader, a member of the parish music ministry and is the founding member of the Parish Wellness Ministry.
Although Alison's professional career is not related to music, music and singing have always been an important part of her life. She has sung and played guitar since early childhood and taught both of her sons to play guitar, one of whom continues to do so professionally. Since 1976, she has served as leader of song for healing masses, retreats and days of renewal on the parish, diocesan, and statewide level.
One of Alison's most rewarding musical experiences was as a member of the Beloved Daughters, a women's chorale at Our Lady of the Mount under the direction of Barbara Sanderman. Proceeds from the Beloved Daughters’ compact disc recording, "Have Courage, My Soul," benefited the Adorno Fathers’ African Mission.
