Matthew J. LaPine, Baritone

Matthew J. LaPine is an active performer, educator, conductor, and composer in central New Jersey.

Mr. LaPine is the Founder and Artistic Director of Rise Up Chorus, a non-profit organization whose purpose is to enrich lives through human interaction using music as our commonality. He is also Choral Director at Bernards High School, where his choral ensembles have received national acclaim. Mr. LaPine serves as Director of Education for Music in the Somerset Hills and Director of Early Childhood Music Camps at Westminster Conservatory of Music. He has also been the Director of Male Ensembles with the New Jersey Youth Chorus, directing the Camerata ensemble.

Mr. LaPine’s ensembles have performed in such prestigious locations as Carnegie Hall, St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans, LA, the Roper Performing Arts Center in Norfolk, VA, the Thomas Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C., in Nashville, TN, the Prairie Center for the Arts in Chicago, IL, and with such ensembles as the Canadian Brass, the Celtic Tenors, the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. His ensembles have performed the National Anthem at New York Jets, New York Mets, and Somerset Patriots games.

Mr. LaPine sings professionally for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Metuchen, NJ where he is a soloist, section leader, and guest conductor with the Festival and Chamber Choirs.

Also a published author of articles on choral music, Mr. LaPine received his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in Choral Conducting and Music Education degrees from Westminster Choir College of Rider University, where he studied voice and graduated with distinction.
