Mary Damato, Soprano
Mary grew up in a musical family, playing the clarinet and guitar, and performing in various bands and choral groups. As a teen, she was the 2nd Soprano section leader in the New Jersey All State Chorus. Now as a mother of eight children and a grandmother of eight grandchildren, she has imparted her love of music with each one and they, likewise, carry on the musical legacy.
Mary has participated in Masterworks Chorus, Summit Chorale, Continuo Arts Chorus and Celebration Singers. Her singing has taken her to Carnegie Hall, The Papermill Playhouse and St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. In 2022 she will be traveling with her son, Chris, to the Athens Concert Hall to sing Mozart's Requiem under the direction of Peter Tiboris.
She also sings with The Covergirls - a vocal duo performing timeless classics at restaurants, street fairs, farmers markets, veteran groups, women's groups, and assisted living facilities. Mary has also cantored and worked as Music Director at Catholic Churches locally.
Mary is a certified personal trainer, water aerobics instructor, and stretch technician working with people of all ages and needs who desire fitness guidance and encouragement. When she is not working, she loves to swim and enjoys spending time at the beach and in Florida.
She is very grateful for the opportunity to sing with Caritas.
