Amy Cosman, Soprano

Amy’s interest in choral music began in middle school in Canton, NY. She began voice lessons in 8th grade and participated in the New York State Schools Music Association competitions for several years as a vocalist. She continued with school chorus and musical theater throughout high school and and college at St. Michael’s College in Colchester, VT. There she sang with the St. Michael’s Chorale, which toured England and Ireland, as well as Montreal and various New York and New England venues. With the exception of the occasional wedding solo, Amy took a break from singing while she established a career, got married and began to raise her children. In 2012, she decided to join her church choir at St. Bernard of Clairvaux in Bridgewater under the direction of Barbara Sanderman, and soon became a cantor. She joined the talented and inspiring Caritas Chamber Chorale in the winter of 2017.

After attending St. Michael’s college, Amy received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Syracuse University in History of Architecture. She worked in the healthcare provider IT industry for many years with a focus on data integration, working on projects at hospitals such as Caritas St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Boston, University of Connecticut, Princeton Hospital, Continuum, University of Pennsylvania, and New York Presbyterian.

Amy is currently a stay-at-home mom living in Branchburg, NJ with her supportive and encouraging husband and two girls. She also enjoys skiing, sailing, knitting and cooking.
