Mike Burke, Bass
Growing up in Windsor, Ontario along the Canadian shore of the Detroit River, Mike Burke had been influenced by a wide spectrum of music, with early roots in Gospel tradition (yes, that's where Motown originated after all). It was easy for him to gravitate back to those roots when he joined Caritas in 2008. A life-long Catholic from two families of centuries-long Catholics, Mike currently sings at St. Matthias Church in Somerset, NJ with the Folk Group and Ensemble choirs and plays accompanying guitar and percussion along with cantoring throughout the liturgical calendar.
During his daytime life, Mike is the Director of Product Sustainability at the Global Technology Center for the Colgate-Palmolive Company. Colgate is where he started his professional life in the United States in 1989 after receiving his Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Alberta. He splits a healthy portion of his spare time between running long distance and his solo music project, Second Childhood, making use of those passions to pursue other charitable opportunities wherever possible.
